Most people look for Generalized Anxiety Disorder Treatment that involves psychiatric medications. I suspect the main reason is because we live in a modern western society where the use of medications is heavily encouraged by the media. Yet, many people tend to forget the responsibility for managing this disorder is ultimately remains with us. If the modern medication routine is absolutely necessary, we can make sure it is kept to a minimum.
How?
Having lived through one anxiety disorder, I will tell you there are many indirect steps you can take to relieve your anxiety in the comfort of your home. Aside from using my Natural Therapy for Anxiety Disorders, there are some important steps you can take as well.
What are they?
1) Picking the correct form of exercise that relieves your anxiety level the most.
Although all exercises relieve stress to a certain degree, some types of exercises are doing a better job at it than the other forms of exercises do. For instance, I found early on any high impact aerobic exercise is great for the nerves. I love rope skipping. By the way, when I jump up and down, I do not even have a rope. I just pretend I do. Jumping up and down to your favorite music in the morning even for a few minutes will not only soothe your nerves, but will make you burn calories at incredible speed. Make sure you have a good pair of cross training shoes and your doctor’s clearance if you attempt to follow my lead.
While any high impact aerobic exercise is great for relieving anxiety, weight lifting and strength training exercises are not. In fact, doing weight lifting early in the morning seems to place undue stress on one’s body. It might leave you exhausted for the rest of day.
2) Eliminating anxiety-causing foods and drinks from your diet.
Yes, decreasing the number of anxiety-causing foods and drinks from your diet or eliminating them altogether can have a profound effect on effectiveness of your generalized anxiety disorder treatment. What are those foods and drinks that might make you experience high levels of anxiety?
Coffee and colas that are filled with caffeine come to mind first. Don’t get me wrong. I love coffee just as much as you do. Nevertheless, we must exercise moderation in everything we do. Drinking those drinks regularly will cause you to have high levels of anxiety.
While we are talking about this topic, many people are allergic to certain foods and do not even realize it. For instance, some people are allergic to dairy foods. However, their allergic reaction is not always obvious. By the way, not all allergies come in the form of allergic shock. Having high levels of anxiety is one way your allergy can “express” itself.
Which professional can detect these hidden allergies?
In my experience, chiropractic physicians are well-trained to detect those allergies that irritate your body and mind. They do primarily muscle-testing on you to detect those allergies. I will not go into details of what muscle-testing is because I will do it in the other section. For now, simply be aware of these types of allergies.
3) Perhaps, breathing a fresh air is the most important generalized anxiety disorder treatment you can discover for yourself.
Look at any animal, such as your dog or your cat. Animals are much healthier than humans are for the most part. There is a reason for it. They know when to exercise and how to exercise. Human beings do not know. If we do know what we need to do, we do not always do what we know. Animals, on the other hand, do “like” schedules and routines and stick to them. They want us to stick to their routines as well.
Breathing oxygen is one way to relieve stress. After work or school, go for a walk. Instead of walking your dog, be more concerned with “walking” yourself. That way, you and your dog will live a long life. If you do not have a dog, make a routine of “walking” yourself each evening. No matter what your disability is, almost everybody is capable of walking and breathing a fresh air. Moreover, walking and breathing a fresh air can do wonders for your problem-solving ability. I am surprised to find most solutions to my problems come to mind when I walk outside of my apartment. When my mind is calm, I can think clearer. When the mind receives oxygen in the form of fresh air, solutions do come to mind.
If you follow my three suggestions above, your generalized anxiety disorder treatment will be a successful one. Those suggestions will be even more effective if you decide to combine them with my Natural Therapy for Anxiety Disorders.
